JOHN FRANK GUERRERA
HILLSBOROUGH
Three term former Hillsborough mayor, John Frank Guerrera, died on Sunday evening, Nov. 8, 2009 after a brief illness. He served for many years as the Executive Director of the Somerset County and Hillsborough Democratic Organizations. His community affiliations included Somerville Elks Lodge 1068, American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles Somerset Aerie 2137, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Guerrera was a veteran of the Second World War serving as an Ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Guerrera, President and owner of Hardgrove Realty in Somerville, NJ, held a BA in Mathematics and MA in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University.
Surviving are his special friend, Anne Iannone; his two daughters, Midge Guerrera and Susan G. Niedt; their spouses Jack Huber and Richard L. Niedt and his grandchildren, Christopher John Niedt and Aleaxandra Rose Niedt. He will be sorely missed by many.
Visiting hours will be held today, Thursday, November 12th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville, NJ (908.725.4100) The Celebration of John Guerrera's Life will take place at 11:30 AM on Friday, November 13th at the Somerville Elks, 375 Union Avenue, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the PACF Catherine Guerrera Charitable Fund, C/O Princeton Area Community Foundation, 15 Princess Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648

I was friends with John for many years when I lived in Hillsborough…
John was responsible for my appointment to various Boards in Hillsborough Township and I always respected his expertise.
He will be missed by many.

Gerri and I are so saddened by this news..John was a mentor..a confidant. proud Italian.a great friend..and A GREAT DEMOCRAT.. I often think of the strategy sessions in the Democratic headquarters adjacent to john's office.(litle strategy ..more drinking eating pizza and laughing)...and of course all his help to get me elected mayor and Freeholder in somerset county..Our condolences to the family and to the many many friends John had..We lost a great guy..
