CHARLES H. DETGEN
AGE: 98 DOYLESTOWN, PA
Charles H. Detgen, a resident of Pine Run Community, Doylestown, PA, died Friday, February 12, 2010. He was 98. During WWII, Charles served in the European Theater of Operation, separating in November 1946 as Captain of the 416th Signal Company Aviation and retiring in March 1963 as Major, U.S. Air Force Reserve. Charles was a graduate of the New Jersey State Teacher College (now, Kean University) and Rutgers University. Mr. Detgen was a high school teacher and an elementary school principal in the Plainfield School System retiring after 41 years of service. He was a past president of the Plainfield Kiwanis Club. He was s session member of Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church, Plainfield, NJ. While at Pine Run Community, Charles served as president of the Villagers Association Board during 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Laura E. Detgen and sons: Donald of Milford, New Jersey and Glenn of Rockwall, Texas; six grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
