WALTER JOHN
REINECKER
AGE: 83 PLAINFIELD
Walter John Reinecker, 83, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at JFK Hospital in Edison. Born in Stuttgart, Germany; as an infant came to the USA with his parents Walter and Paula. He attended elementary and high school in North Plainfield and lived in the Plainfield area for the entirety of his life. Mr. Reinecker graduated from Rutgers with a B.S. and went on to earn his Masters of Science from NJIT. In 1958, he founded Reinco Inc., a manufacturer of erosion control equipment sold worldwide. As a Professional Engineer, he received 4 patents between 1962 and 1970. Walter remained active in the business through 2005. Mr. Reinecker proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He volunteered as a Boy Scout leader, was a strong supporter of the National Parks as well as the U.S. Olympic teams, and was a very avid skier, spending many years in Crested Butte, Colorado. He also enjoyed camping, gardening, surfing and long weekends in Barnegat Light, for the last 50 years.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Claire Conover Reinecker, who died in 1990, and his step-daughter Bonnie DeSouza, who died in 2008. Surviving are his loving wife, Nancy; sons Erich of Plainfield and Neil of Whitehouse Station; his daughter, Lynn Reinecker Cote of Manchester, NH; two step-children, Betsy DeSouza of Malden, MA and Leslie DeSouza of Clearwater, FL; and seven grandchildren; Ian, Derek, David, Marc, Lauren, Elizabeth and Stephanie.

Neil and Rick...My condolences to you both as well as the entire Reinecker family. Although I've lived in North Carolina since 1997 I often think of years I spent at Holiday Travel and served your fine family.
