AGE: 82 PLAINFIELD
Delores M. Tucker, 82, died Wed., May 26, 2010 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Scotch Plains, she moved to Plainfield in 1960. She was a 1964 graduate of Charm Beauty School in Newark. She was employed with Lockheed Electronics in Watchung for 20 years retiring in 1990 and prior to that with RCA in Somerville for 11 years. After retiring, she worked for the state of NJ Dept. of Human Services Disabled Children in Scotch Plains. Mrs. Tucker was a member of St. John's Baptist Church in Scotch Plains since 1938 where she sang in the youth choir, the gospel chorus, the inspirational choir and was a member of the cafeteria committee. She was also a member of the Plainfield Senior Citizens.
Her husband James Tucker died in 2002. Surviving are a brother in law Ralph Tucker, her niece and goddaughter Teresa Tucker; a godson Justin Blake and his sister Chantel Blake and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Tues. 11am in St. John's Baptist Church 2387 Morse Ave., Scotch Plains preceded by viewing at 10am. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Arrangements by Brown's Funeral Home, Plainfield. Condolences may be expressed at brownsfuneralhome.net.
