Lois A. Kipsey Parker passed away in Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, Maryland on Tuesday August 3, 2010 after a long illness. She had just recently celebrated her 80th birthday. Mrs. Parker had been a resident of Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Havre de Grace, Maryland since June of 2009. She earned her teaching degree from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania in 1952 and taught English and History in Manasquan, South Bound Brook and Wayne, New Jersey school systems. In 1955 she married James E. Parker, and left teaching to focus on raising a family. When her children were old enough, she returned to the classroom in both the Plainfield and North Plainfield school systems as a bedside tutor and a substitute teacher.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James E. Parker; her children, LCDR(R) Andrew A. Parker of Pebble Beach, California, Ellen P. Herrmann of Knoxville, Tennessee, Daniel P. Parker of Fairfax, Virginia, and LTC(R) Amy J. Parker of Havre de Grace, Maryland; her grandchildren, Erik W. Herrmann of New Haven, Connecticut, Karl E.
