RUTH IVEY
AGE: 82 HIGHLAND PARK
Ruth Ivey, 82 passed away Sunday, Nov. 28,2010 at Marlboro Park Hospital, SC. She was born in Bennettsville, SC and resided in Highland Park since 1953.
Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Edward " Skeet", 2 children, Aleane Davis and Lorenzo Ivey and a sister, Arlillian Davis. She is survived by 8 daughters; Evelyn Thomas, Mary Ivey, Chiffoun (Henry) Wallace, Elnora (William ) Karaffa of Highland Park, Lona (William) Miller of Jackson; Magaleane Southerland of Bennettsville, SC, and Cheryl Johnston of Charlotte, NC 2 sons, Rubin (Barbara) and Michael (Mary Ann) of HighArrangements land Park a brother, Ronald (Barbara Jean) Davis of HIghland Park 37 Grandchildren and 47 Great Grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchldren.
Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service, 201 Sandford st., New Brunswick. Services will be Mon. Dec. 6,2010 at 11 am at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, 771 Somerset St., Somerset, Viewing Mon. 10-11 AM at church and Burial at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.

To the Ivey Family. I did not grow up in highland park but became an honorary member. The Ivey family embraced me as one of their own. I just want to say thank you and I love each and everyone of you. Mrs. Ivey always had a smile and a warm embrace. Rest in peace Ms. Ivey.

To My Extended Family..... The Ivey's,
Words can't really express what your mom (and father) meant to me and my family. We have know each other since 1958 I was one years old. We have shared so many days, nights & years together. Birthdays, holidays, weddings, sleepovers, graduations & births. Your mom no matter what was going on she always took time out for each one of us. Always had a pot or 3 on the stove LOL:) and always wanted to know how you were doing? She made me feel like i was also one of hers. She provided a very safe place a home full of laughter, Joy and a lot of LOVE. I love her and will miss her but one thing that I do know that she is in a lovely place with her dear Mr. Skeet, Alene, Renzo (the twin) and my dad Mr. Taylor their dear friend. Grandma, I miss you so much, but i keep telling myself you'll always be with me ; in my heart & in my memories. I'll never forget how you made me feel & the time we shared together. God gave me 16 years with you, I cherished every moment. God kept you & Grandpa seperated long enough. Kiss him, Aunt Aleane & Uncle Lorenzo for me.

Mrs. Ivey... a wonderful woman with a warm heart & a uplifting smile. She will be truly missed by the Highland Park community & all that came upon her. " A GRANDMOTHER, A MOTHER, AN ANGEL .... It's an honor and a privlege to say that Mrs. Ivey was my friend. She was so kind and loving to me and my family. We will always remember her with a smile on her face and a song in her heart.
