H. Lewis Obituary
AGE: 76 • Toms River
H. Garton Lewis Jr., 76, of Toms River, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at home. Born in Monticello, N.Y., he was raised in Bayport, N.Y. He retired from Lockheed Martin Fairchild Systems, where he was a Senior Consulting Engineer, Advanced Systems. Prior to that, he was employed by the RCA David Sarnoff Research Center, where he was awarded 35 patents and the Brooklyn National Laboratory, where he was a member of the High Energy Physics Group and the Applied Mathematics Department. He served in the U.S. Army under the Redstone Missile Project. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and enjoyed doing volunteer work and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Evelyn; his son and daughter-in-law, William and Robin Lewis of Newtown, Pa.; his brother, Garrison Lewis of Cazenovia, N.Y.; and his granddaughter, Morgan.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Toms River.
