Leo Zuckerman, 95, of Bridgewater, NJ, formerly of Branchburg, Bound Brook, and Somerville, died in his sleep on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Leo worked for 32 years at Ortho Diagnostics, a division of Johnson & Johnson, retiring in 1984 as Director of Regulatory Compliance. He graduated from Brooklyn College, where he recently established the Anne and Leo Zuckerman Class of 1942 scholarship to help low-income students. He was a lifetime fellow of the American Institute of Chemists and the New York and New Jersey Academy of Sciences, and other professional associations. He and his wife of 69 years, Anne, helped found the Arc of Somerset County and worked to improve services and rights for disabled people. They both won a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Arc of Somerset County and the Hannah Solomon Award for Outstanding Community Service from the National Council of Jewish Women. They were members of Temple Sholom of Bridgewater and active in 4-H.

Anne Zuckerman passed away in 2011. He is survived by children, Drs. Barry and Pamela Zuckerman of Boston, Dr. Diana Zuckerman of Chevy Chase, MD, and Elliot Zuckerman of Hillsborough; and grandchildren, Jacob and Katherine Zuckerman, and Nicole and Andrew Dubowitz.
