Clarence Charles Hook, Jr.

AGE: 85 • Mays Landing

Clarence Charles Hook, Jr., 85, of Mays Landing, NJ passed away peacefully Tuesday April 15, 2014. Clarence was born in Plainfield, NJ and was a long time resident of Middlesex County, NJ before retiring to Galloway, NJ 20 years ago. A man of faith, Clarence was currently a member of the Absecon (NJ) Presbyterian Church and formerly of the Community Presbyterian Church of the Sand Hills (Kendall Park, NJ). He served his country as a Marine in the Korean War, and was a member of several veterans' organizations. Self-employed most of his career with C.C. Hook and Co, and Princeton Mechanical, Inc. he was a Master Plumber and a 65-year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 9. An aviation enthusiast and private pilot, he was a member of several aviation organizations. He was member of Atlantic Lodge #221 F&AM.

He was preceded in death by Lois Marie Satterthwaite Hook, to whom he was married for 49 years; grandson, Peter Phillip Schaeffer; father, Clarence Charles Hook, Sr.; mother, Ethel Mae (Wilson) Hook Bishop Mount; step father, Jack Bishop; and stepfather, Todd Mount.

Surviving are Helen Adele (Stannard Loder) Hook of Mays Landing, NJ, whom he married in 2005; son, David Hook and his wife Cathy of Grand Lake, CO; daughter, Judith (Hook) Schaeffer of Absecon, NJ; grandchildren: Isaac Hook and wife Holly, Hannah (Hook Law) Young and husband Robert, Rebekah Hook and partner Shawna Held, Ruth Hook, Nicholas Schaeffer and wife Stephanie, Emily (Schaeffer) Milde and husband Joseph, and Catherine Lawrence; great-grandchildren: Summer Schaeffer Lawrence, Lucas Law (Young), Jonathan Young, Owen Schaeffer, and Mackenzie (Schaeffer) Milde; sister, Marjorie (Hook) Totten and husband George Stanley formerly of Marmora, NJ; niece, Carol (Totten) Wilkening and husband Hal of Middleburg, FL; nephew, Paul Totten and wife Peggy of Corbin City, NJ; uncle, Robert Wilson formerly of Flanders, NJ; and several cousins, grand nieces and grand nephews.

To celebrate his life, friends and family can visit between 9:30 to 11:00 am, Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. A private burial will be at Colonial Memorial Park, Trenton, NJ. Memorial donations may be made to the Young Eagles Program of the Experimental Aircraft Association, www.eaa.org, 3000 Poberezny Road, Oshkosh, WI 54902 or the Absecon Presbyterian Church, 20 New Jersey Avenue, Absecon, NJ 08201.
