Frank Zachmann Obituary

Frank Zachmann

AGE: 80 • Formerly of Toms River

Frank Zachmann, passed away Sunday, March 13, at Baylor University Heart Hospital in Dallas, Texas, following open surgery. Born in Bayonne and raised in Jersey City, he married Lillian Anstett on February 4th, 1956. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Zack was liked and admired by all who met him as an honest, helpful man, who would help anyone in need, even to his own inconvenience. He served as a committee man for the Boy Scouts of America, An active member of St. Andrews Methodist Church, performing in their morality plays and Xmas and Easter pageants: a shop steward and organizer, and later, vice president of a 2000 man union, where he was able to implement many on the job safety features for the men, as well as becoming the company laison to OSHA. Half of the comedy team of Zack and Lil the Country Cousins, he performed at many benefits in the area, as well as on their own two year weekly series called "Zack and Lil's Medicine Show", on Cable channel 8 in Bayville. He did all this in addition to remodeling and rebuilding his 100 year old home and 200 year old barn in Pleasant Plains, while maintaining a small ranch. Eventually, the open road called him and he and Lil traveled the USA, Canada, and Mexico, before settling in S. Texas. From there, they moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Visited often by their two sons, Frank Henry and Jon, they have enjoyed their golden years together. Frank was predeceased by his four brothers, all WWII vets, one of which is buried in Normandy, France. He has two grandchildren.
