AGE: 87 • Toms River
Pompeo 'Mario' Saporito, 87, of Toms River, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 at his home. Mario worked as a Carousel operator at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights for the past 10 years. Born and raised in Italy, he came to the United States 60 years ago to Brooklyn, NY. He then lived in Jersey City and Seaside Heights before moving to Toms River 4 years ago.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Adele Corson Saporito; five sons, Pasquale, Anthony, Thomas Saporito, Jay and Jesse Rossi; daughter Renee Rossi; and 10 cherished grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A funeral service will be offered 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park Cemetery.

I can't believe it has been 8 years. Going to Seaside is not the same anymore and I bet you would have loved the new home of the Carousel hopefully it will open soon. Love you and miss you!!

I was lucky enough to know Mario for the entire time he worked at Casino Pier. He ALWAYS had a smile and took care of his job as if he owned the company. He was a treasure we will all miss very much. He had an infectious personality and made us all better people. We love you Mario and will miss you very much.

Such sad news. Mario, in the short time we got to work together, I learned how caring, compassionate and funny you were. I always enjoyed every minute. Lots of folks have been asking for you.
