Joseph F. Diffendale

AGE: 87 • Jackson

Joseph Diffendale, 87, of Jackson, NJ, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at home.

Born in Ozone Park, Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Belford, NJ before moving to Jackson 18 years ago.

Joseph worked in electronics for Electronic Associates Inc. in Long Branch, NJ for 10 years then worked in Hospital construction.

He was a US Army Korean War Veteran and was the recipient of three Purple Hearts.

Joseph was a member of the Jackson United Methodist Church, Jackson, NJ, the VFW Jackson Post, the Disabled American Veterans and the Order of the Purple Heart.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia, in May 2015.

Joseph is survived by his three children Charles Diffendale of Jackson, NJ, Mark Diffendale and his wife Joyce of Jackson, NJ and Patricia Gibbs and her husband Greg of Port Deposit, MD, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday 7-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals DeBow Chapel, 150 West Veterans Hwy, Jackson, NJ. A funeral service will be offered Tuesday 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet, NJ.
