Grace Genseal Obituary

Grace Genseal, 91, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born March 31, 1920, in Concord, the daughter of Louis and Tillie Koch Wedeking. She married Joseph Genseal on April 7, 1950, and he preceded her in death Dec. 10, 2002.

Grace is survived by one daughter, Kim (husband, Bob) Dawdy of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Jody (husband, Jeff) Haskell of White Hall and Craig (fianceé, Natalie) Dawdy of Quincy; and three great-grandchildren, Molly, Marisa and Jacob Haskell.

Mrs. Genseal enjoyed cross stitching, bingo and watching baseball.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Beardstown. The family will then meet friends for a memorial gathering at 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Jacksonville Moose Lodge. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Medical Center C2 Foundation or Seniors at Moosehaven and condolences may be left at www.airsman-hires.com. Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements.

Grace was a very dear and special friend of mine. I can only hope that fond memories of her will be some comfort to the family and everyone who was associated with Grace. I will miss her greatly!

Grace was one of the sweetest, kindest, most gentle women I have ever known. She was a friend of my mom, step-mom and my dad. The day I met her she invited me into her home to see all of her beautiful cross-stitch projects. She will be missed....
