Nick Chingman Obituary
He was born April 13, 1959, in Muskegon, Mich., the son of Raymond George and Ruth Elaine Garvey Chingman. He married Linda Strope on March 6, 1987, in Las Vegas, and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Michael Chingman (wife, Deanna) of Las Vegas and David Chingman (fiancée, Michelle Johnston) of Carlinville; three grandchildren, Klayton, Alma and Dalton Chingman; two brothers, Raymond and Daniel; three sisters, Louella, Mary and Diann; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Donna Strope of Alexander; and his sister-in-law, Becky Strope of Alexander. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Chingman graduated from White Hall High School in Muskegon, Mich., and was previously employed for 15 years at A-C Humko in Jacksonville. He served from 1977 to 1992 with the U.S. Air Force including service with Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Graveside military honors will be held 12 Noon Wednesday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. The family will meet friends from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorial gifts are suggested to the family.
