Mario Borrego Funeral services for Mario Borrego, 61, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Life Church with the Rev. Steve Martinez, pastor, officiating. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Borrego died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Aug. 11, 1945, in San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico, to Raymond Borrego and Francisca Ramirez Borrego. He married Sulema Hernandez on Nov. 1, 1964, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. Survivors include his mother; his wife; two sons, Martin Borrego and Mario Borrego Jr., both of Plainview; two daughters, Ofelia Hernandez and Rosa Lemones, both of Plainview; three sisters, Yolanda Trevino of Pontiac, Ill., Lupe Gutierrez of Oak Cliff and Oralia Shears of Plainview; six brothers, Reginald Borrego of Kress, Ruben Borrego, Arturo Borrego and Raul Martinez, all of Plainview, Alfredo Borrego of Gould, Okla., and Rojelio Borrego of Piedras, Negras, Coahuila, Mexico; and seven grandchildren. His father and one brother, Armando Borrego, are deceased.
