Mrs. Barbara Jane Cansler Hardee, 73, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Loris Extended Care Facility following an illness. Born June 13, 1937 in Edgefield, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Isaac Avery Cansler and the late Myrtle Ann Workman Cansler. Mrs. Hardee worked as a Teacher's Aide with the Horry County School System. She was a member of the Loris First Presbyterian Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her loving and wonderfully devoted husband, Francis Marion Hardee of the home; her two daughters, Penny H. Chestnut and husband, Jerry, of Longs, and Frances Lynn Clark and husband, Stewart, of Clarkton, N.C.; brother, Carroll E. Cansler of New Mexico; two sisters, Elsie Graham of Loris, and Sue Prosser and husband, Jerry, of Charleston; and two grandchildren, Kristen and Kelly Chestnut, both of Longs.
Mrs. Hardee was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Coy and John Cansler.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Loris First Presbyterian Church with committal services following at Twin City Memorial Gardens. Pastor Tim Osment and Reverend Mike McGehee will officiate services. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hardwick Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Palmetto Chapter, P.O. Box 7044, Columbia SC, 29202-7044 or InCare Home Health and Hospice, 4685 Hwy. 17, South Bypass, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
