Dear Family,

my name is Tina from Hamburg in Germany.
May some of my relatives in the US still do remember me.
28 years later I am 43 now and I had beeen 15 when I have first met my grant aunt Helen in the US.

After some research on the Internet I have found this guest book and I am still sad about the loss of my wonderful grand aunt Helen.

I will never forget when I have first met her in summer 1991 while my first vacation in the US. I travelled together with my grandma Katharina (Helens younger sister) and my mom Renate (Helens nice) and my father Zen. It has been a very special time and undorgettable moments for all of us as my grandma and my mom havent seen her sister/ aunt Helen for nearly 30 years. What a reunion! In 1996 I took another chance to see my family in the US again and also Helen. I will never forget this trip to my familyin the US. Today my grandma and my father already passed away. My mom is fine and I am happy to have sone video tapes of that trip and recorded scenes from the reunion of my grandma and her sister Helen at the Aiport in Atlanta, Georgia.

If someone of the Binninger would like to get in contact me, please send your message to [email protected]. I would be very happy to get in touch with my US family members. I hope all of you are doing good.

Big hug and kisses to all of my family in the US!

Axel, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. I was stationed at Myrtle Beach AFB 1987. I had just came there from England and use to go to Germany all the time, that's why I loved coming to your place and your mom was such a Great lady and cook. I loved her home fries!!! She was always smiling. I loved your place and think about you guys all the time. Have not been back to Myrtle beach, but the first chance I get back there I will stop in and say hi. Again, your mom will be truly missed.

To the Binninger Family,
We are from Connecticut and own a condo in Little River. Whenever we came for a visit we would always include a visit to Bodo's. We always asked if Helen was there so we could extend our thanks for a lovely meal. She was so kind and shared her time with us. We will miss her and her great meals. Our sympathy to all of you.

To all of the Binninger Family,

Having known you all for over 34 years, I remember meeting Helen for the first time in your apartment on Copeland Rd in Sandy Springs - she was helping me to get a little mini-doc puppy ... It was hectic that day, but she took the time to spare me a smile and a sample of her big and loving personality. I was intrigued. Over the years, as I got to know her better, I realized why I was so intrigued and attracted to her. I knew and loved most of you first, and I see that many of your good qualities - kindness, great senses of humor, groundedness and pride came directly from your mother.

She was a wonderful, funny, caring, adorable woman, and I feel blessed and honored to call her my friend. Rick and I both looked forward to seeing her because we knew she'd make us laugh and that she was happy to see us.

I know you feel a whole in your collective hearts, but try to reconcile within yourselves that she created a large, loving family of smart and talented kids who grew up to be smart and talented adults who love each other (not t mention her food legacy) - what a great achievement! She touched so many lives aside from yours with her quirky ways and her big heart. She lived a full and long life and we will all miss her dearly.

My love and greatest sympathies to you all.

Always,

Meridith

Dear Bobbsy & Family

We were so sorry to hear of your moms passing. We have the fondest memories of our "Southern Mom" and the fine dining at Bodos - especially the "Atlanta" Schnitzel. Helen may have left this temporary life, but is now at peace at her eternal resting place.

Love Always, Memories and Prayers Forever,

Dear Bobbsy,
You know that our hearts go out to you and the family at this sad time. Helen was your anchor. There is so much about her personality that will be missed - her wise counsel, her wit, her "tell it like it is" approach. We always appreciated her kindness toward Kenneth. Be strong. Love, Roe and Rick

My deepest sympathies to all the Binninger family. Helen was definitely one-of-a-kind. You never knew, when she started to speak, if she would make you laugh, cringe, or stop to think, but she always said what she meant and was usually right. It was always obvious that she cared deeply for her family and friends and looked out for everyone. I'll always remember Helen and am thinking warmly of all y'all. Much love.

Binninger Family,

I will always remember Helen as a tough, amusing and yet loving person. She took life as it came. My heart is heavy at her passing. I wish we could live forever.

She taught a lot of lessons by example about hard work, family loyality and friendship. She did have a hard life, but I think she enjoyed life because she enjoyed working and being around people at the restaurant. She enjoyed the small things, such as watching baseball on TV, her family and pets and that is the example we should all take. Family, pets, friends and simple pleasures are all that matter in the end.

I will miss you Helen.

Dearest Family,
There are no words...not ones we want to say or ones we want to hear, but just know I will sorely miss Helen. She was like a mom to me, that's the way she was with all your friends, she was like a mom to them all. In each one of you, there is a part of Helen. She instilled in all of you how important family is, how important hard work is, and how important it is to enjoy life while you can. Helen touched a lot of people in her lifetime and I am glad to be one of those people. I will never forget the wonderful woman you call Mom & Grandma and I call friend.

when we were in town there was no better place to stop than bodo's. there was not a nicer woman to visit than helen. pepe and i would make a stop just about every day during bike week. i especially enjoyed when helen would come out of the kitchen and spend some time with us. it always felt like i was in her home, not the restaurant. helen and bodo's are both one of a kind. to the binninger family and everyone who walks through those doors, i'm sorry to hear of your your loss.

Dear Binninger Family, I remember first meeting Helen 20 years ago for the first time, and over the many years of hanging out as well as working at Bodo's had come to know her and your family well.
