Jack W. Prince
Sumter
Jack W. Prince, Sr., 77, husband of Grace Bradshaw Prince, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Loris, he was a son of the late Herb Prince and the late Florence Denton Prince. Mr. Prince was a member of Pinewood United Methodist Church. He was retired from the S.C. Highway Department after 35 years where he served as a trooper and license examiner. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a Mason, and member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, J. Walter Prince, Jr. (Jennifer M.) of Aiken and Todd Bradshaw Prince (Stacie) of Hoover, AL; two grandchildren, Holly Marie Prince and Cooper Bradshaw Prince; and four sisters, Nell Lupo of Green Sea, Martha Hardy of Loris, Florine Stevens of Chesapeake, VA, and Betty Tyler of Lake Waccamaw, NC.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Prince and Edward Prince; and two sisters, Marie Powell and Juanita Floyd.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, February 2, 2012 in the Pinewood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randall Haase and the Rev. Dick Broomall officiating. Burial will be in the Weeks Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Freddie Bradshaw, Brian Bradshaw, Robert Falls, Eddie Prince, Kyle Prince, and Joe Floyd.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. Thursday at Pinewood United Methodist Church and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Pinewood United Methodist Church, 211 East Avenue North, Pinewood, SC 29125.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
