Mr. Roy Lee Hardee, Jr., age 77, passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at McLeod Loris Hospital following an illness. Born on February 26, 1935 in Loris, SC he was the son of Mr. Roy Lee Hardee, Sr. and Mrs. Stella Fowler Hardee. Mr. Hardee was the retired owner of Hardee's IGA Foodliner and a longtime active member of the Loris First Baptist Church and Choir. Mr. Hardee was always civically minded and concerned with the promotion of local business, but he will be most remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Hardee of the home, daughter, Abby Hardee Cox, son-in-law, Joe Cox, daughter-in-law, Mary Hardee and five grandchildren, Jessica Arin and Joseph Tanner Cox and John Stephen, Jameson Lee and Janie Elizabeth Hardee all of Loris, SC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardee was predeceased by his son, Roy Stephen Hardee and brother, Donald Fowler Hardee.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Loris First Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Larry Turner officiating. Committal services will follow at Twin City Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Loris First Baptist Church, 3117 Main St., Loris, SC 29569.
