January 28, 1930 - September 8, 2012
Loris, South Carolina
Mrs. Vernise West Vaught, age 82, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 28, 1930 in Loris, SC she was the daughter of Mr. Lewis Thomas West and Gracie Estelle Goff West. Mrs. Vaught was a retired dietician with Loris High School and a faithful member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Terry Vaught and wife, Suzanne of Anderson, SC; two daughters, Genell Turnbull and husband, Mike of Summerville, SC and Kathy Barwick of Lawrenceville, GA; one brother, J. T. West and wife, Versie of Loris, SC; two sisters, Myrtle W. Page of Clarkton, NC and Geneva King Doyle of Loris, SC. Mrs. Vaught is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and recently a great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaught was predeceased by her husband, George Gore Vaught and one son, George Ray Vaught.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Reverend Rory Thigpen officiating. Committal services will follow at Twin City Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hardwick Funeral Home. Those wishing to do so may make memorials to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 4350 Red Bluff Rd, Loris, SC 29569.
