Helen Barnhill Blackmon, 77, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Marion (200 Faulk Road, Marion, SC 29571). Burial will follow at Devotion Gardens directed by Richardson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Church.
Mrs. Blackmon was born in Aynor, a daughter of the late Walter and Ellen James Barnhill. She was a loving wife and mother. Mrs. Blackmon was also a member of the Relief Society of the Church of Jesus and worked as a bookkeeper for Piggly Wiggly.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Talbert Blackmon of the home; sons: Raymond Blackmon of Marion, Ervin Blackmon, Jr. (Jeannie) of Marion, Tim Blackmon (Phyliss) of Marion, Chuck Blackmon (Dawn) of Florence, and Keith Blackmon (Cayce) of Marion; brother, Walter "Bill" James Barnhill (Linda) of Galivants Ferry: a sister, Peggy Richardson (Samuel) of Galivants Ferry; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502.
