Leslie Prothro Obituary

Leslie Joan Lepar Prothro, 60, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008, at her home in Pflugerville, Texas. Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m in the chapel. Visitation with family members will occur prior to the service from 10:00 to service time.

Ms. Prothro was born July 29, 1947, in Akron, Ohio to Mr. and Mrs. William Richard Lepar, Jr. She attended undergraduate school at Southwestern University and received her Masters in Education at Baylor University. She dedicated her life to the education of children, teaching elementary grades for almost 35 years with an emphasis on writing. She retired in May 2007, looking forward to the next chapter of her life. Leslie enjoyed reading, sewing, beading, traveling, watching TV and eating Mexican food!

She is survived by her mother, Joan Judson Lepar of Waco, Texas; sister, Marcia Lepar Whitworth, of League City, Texas; daughter, Laura McGlothlin, of Houston, Texas; son, Evan Prothro, of Nashville, Tennessee; and her beloved dog, Mattie.
