Patricia Melton Obituary

Patricia Lynn Melton, of Midland, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007. She was born May 24, 1950 to Richard and Mary Newton in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Newton, and her son, Dennis Winfrey.

Lynn is survived by her husband, James Melton of Midland, TX; son and daughter-in-law, James and Dawn Callow, and daughter, Sabrina Melton, all of Midland, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Chuck Spearman of Zephyr, TX; mother, Mary Newton, and brothers and sisters, Dick Newton, Randy Newton, Rhonda Aime, Cheryl Kyles, and Rosemary Stevens, all of California; grandchildren, Tamara, Britni, and Jaime Spearman of Zephyr, TX; Stetson Spearman of Dallas, TX; Haylee and Tyler Callow of Midland, TX; and great-grandchild, Avery James Spearman of Dallas, TX.

The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Sunday, August 19, 2007 between the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.

Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 20, 2007 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. To place on-line condolences visit www.mem.com.

LYNN WAS THE LOVE OF MY LIVE AND ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS. I'VE MISSED HER SO MUCH THE PAST YEAR AND WILL MISS HER EVEN MORE. WE HAD MORE FUN ARGUING THAN MOST PEOPLE DO IN A LIFETIME...SHE WAS PRECIOUS TO ME. JAMES, YOU'VE BEEN WONDERFUL TAKING CARE OF HER.

My deepest sympathy goes out to James and Lynn's family, as she has been and will be missed by all of the shuffleboard players. She was a beautiful and kind person.
