MS MAE WAS ONE “VERY SPECIAL LADY” AND WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER
March 20, 2012
I lived around the corner on camp street between Octavia and Joseph. when she worked for Andy's Bar. All though I was not old enough to go in, she would let me stand by the door and talk to her, she reminded me of Mae West, she was always such a Nice Lady. My condolences go out to her family.

I was lucky enough to meet Ms. Mae when we rode together in Orpheus. She was the sweetest, most genuine and generous woman I've ever met. I used to look forward to seeing her in the Irish Italian parade, on the beer truck for the Jefferson City Buzzards. She was a wonderful person and I will miss her. My sincerest condolences to her family.

I and countless others mourn the passing of Ms. Mae but both her legacy and the legend lives on through her family and those who knew her. I have seen as well as have been the recipient of many acts of kindness and generosity over the years of knowing her. I will continue to miss her ebullient spirit and boundless energy as well as her smile and the sweet smile of Mr. C.

To the Bingham Family,
My husband and I and our friends used to frequent Ms. Mae's Place in the 80's. Ms. Mae and Mr. C were like another set of parents to all of us. About 10 yrs ago my mother confided that during my college years if she didn't hear from me for a few weeks, she knew that she could call Ms. Mae and be updated. Just as after Katrina an e-mail went across the country that Ms Mae was ok, tonight the news of her passing will once again go throughout the country and sadden many. I am comforted by the the thought that one of the first to welcome MM to Heaven would have been my friend Lyn. A wonderful lady who cared for so many and made each feel special. NOLA won't be the same without her.

To the Brigham family,
I'm sorry to hear about Ms Mae's passing. She was one of the nicest and thoughtful people I knew. MM and MR C were always hands on even when they had the club on Joseph and Magazine. I sure miss New Orleans and wish I had time to visit the Club before her passing. I will always remember the saint paddy's day parade in the Irish Channel when we had the band on the float with all our friends. God bless you and MR C.
