Some 10 years ago I received a call form Kevin Glackmeyer asking if we were related. A quick look at our family tree revealed that Felix was the link to our kinship. Since then Kevin communicated regularly with his unique philosophical and humorous captions on Face Book. After a while it was as if I had known him all my life, what a wonderful person I only wish I had the opportunity of meeting him in person; however that will have to wait for now.

I wish to extend heart felt condolences to his Family and all his many friends; he will be miss by all..

Kevin was a Fantastic and creative photographer! I have spent many hours in the darkroom with him. He was always gracious in sharing his knowledge and techniques with up and coming photographers and darkroom techs. He always looked for more than just a photo, he wanted a story. He was great around all races and classes of people because he believed in their dignity. Kevin was a One of a Kind individual - he didn't fit any mold and therefore his images Always stood out among others. He was also a gracious judge in photo competitions, he often saw and argued for particular images because of what he could see that the photographer had intended or the spirit behind the piece. Many award winning photos and photographers owe Kevin their gratitude and thanks because of his tenacity in elevating their image above others. Kevin is one of the finest people that i have ever been privledged to meet.

I went to Queen of Mercy with Tim until your family moved from our old neighborhood. Your mother was very good to my mom when she fought her own cancer at age 57. I am so sorry for your family's loss.

Ashley and Family. Thank you for having me at your house to visit Kevin back in October. I want the children to always remember your father was a fine man, and the world is a lesser place with his passing. And KC keep playing guitar, it made your Dad proud. Kevin was a lifelong friend and will be greatly missed.

Ashley and family, words can't say how sorry I am for your loss. I will always remember him helping at the front entrance of our subdivision in July, 2017 while on a family outing to the pool. He gave his time and efforts to help a stranger and was sick at the time. He made a lasting impression on me. May God rest his soul and Bless his family forever is my prayer.

Kevin was a decent and honorable man. He had a way of challenging one's perception of how the world worked, and he never wavered from his moral center. Kevin, our friend, you will be sorely missed.

Praying for you and your family Ashley! Kevin was a pleasure (and a pain at times) to work with those many years ago at Photographic Solutions. He was kind in showing me how they processed and printed things and I appreciated his talents. I'll never forget how he picked at me calling me AL. One things for sure....he made sure that everyone knew how much he loved you!

Kevin was a great human being. He had a wicked sense of humor, loved music (especially George Harrison), and loved his family. He probably forgot more about photography than most photographers will ever know.

Thinking of all of you at this time. We loved working with Kevin...I'm sure when I look at one of the many pictures he took of my groups through the years, I will remember him with great fondness. We shared many laughs together and I will miss him.

Kevin was a very special friend, almost like a younger brother. He was a fantastic photographer and photographic artist. His personality was contagious and never met a stranger. We shared many happy memories. Though we haven't seen each other regularly lately, it was always a joy when we met. Jamie and I were very fortunate to visit him shortly before his last diagnosis. He was in great spirits and showed us around his home noting his children's talents. I'm sure they will grow in his image. Ashley has been a true blessing during Kevin's struggle. May the Good Lord bless her and their family and grant them comfort and peace.

I didn't meet Kevin till 1994; my first time shooting for AP at Talladega.
We took to each other right away. Our mutual passions of photography, beer, and similar tastes in music were the foundation of our relationship.
Then, we both became fathers - Kevin and Ashley being much more fruitful - and added another layer to our friendship.
How do you thank someone you love for simply being.
I guess, it's to carry on his legacy, don't lose touch with his family, and remember the great, epic times!
