Ray Dean Chambers,51, of Bethany, Oklahoma, was born July 15, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri to Kenneth Ray Chambers and Emma Lou (Catlett) Belcher. He left this Earth to be with our Heavenly Father Thursday morning, February 23rd, 2012 after complications with heart disease while at VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Ray was a senior graduate from Booneville, Arkansas in 1979. He then joined the military and served in the Army Calvary as a tank driver. After serving our country Ray then resided in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where within a few years he met his wife Debbie (Green) Chambers. He worked as a security guard for many years before doctors had him medically retire because of heart disease. Ray became an active member of The American Legions here in Oklahoma City. He has been a member with the American Legions Post # 35 since 2007. He has been the adjudant and financial officer for the last 4 years. Also District 5A commander for the last 4 years. The past 5 years Ray has been an active volunteer at the VA Hospital and has set on the volunteer board community for 3 years. Ray was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Chambers, and his mother Emma Belcher. He is survived by his wife: Debbie (Green) Chambers of Bethany, Oklahoma; sister: Vickie (Chambers) Ross and husband Carl of Mustang, Oklahoma; sister Jackie (Chambers) Rose and husband Johnny of Lexington, Oklahoma; sisters-in-laws Kay Green, Barbara Shields, Pam Helfenbein, Shirley Green and brother-in-law Dale Green, along with his step-father Wayne Belcher. Ray is also survived by 3 aunts, Francis Barnes of Independence, Missouri, Bess Arnold of Trenton, Missouri, and Betty Callihan of Humphreys, Missouri; plus one uncle Clinton Catlett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, along with several nephews, nieces and cousins. There will be a Memorial for Ray on Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at 11am, at the American Legion Post # 12 in Bethany, Oklahoma (6101 NW 50th, Bethany, OK) In lieu of flowers please donate to Ray's favorite charity in his name to the following; American Legions Boystate 4608 S.
