Not sure what to say?

Dear Risa and Family-You having just told me tonite of the passing of your dad and mother has brought me great sadness knowing the world has lost such people, but also knowing that God opened His arms to them and took them home. I was 12 years old when I reluctingly met your father. Being terrified of needles all my whole life, into adulthood, your father worked with me so much and today I have all my teeth because of him. (I'm 63 years old). He sang to me, made me laugh, was gentle when I...

Our love and deepest regrets to all of Abe's family. He was a very special and rare individual, as was Eunie. My AHS friend, and our family dentist.

I have many memories of Dr. Sherer and more than a few relate to the AMCH Dental Residency. Imagine my surprise, that at this late date (1/10/06), to find that he is still lobbying for the Dental program at AMCH. Actually, I am not surprised. I never met a more sincere, committed or persistent man.

My sincere condolences to Risa and family on your loss. We all know your Dad will always be in our hearts. It was a true pleasure to know and work with Abe on the National Kidney Foundation Board of Directors. He was a good friend and I will miss him.

To the family of Abe,
We were so sorry to recently hear of your loss. We were in Europe until this past week and just heard the sad news. Suzie, your father was a great role model and a pleasure to talk with anytime we saw him. He was an inspiration and will be missed. Sorry we weren't here to give you our condolences in person.

My partner, my colleague, my mentor, my friend, I am so sad to realize that you've left to continue your good work elsewhere. I am sure heaven could use our singing dentist to brighten up the place a bit. Thanks to all the Sherer's for adding me to the family as Abe's "kid brother". It was a distinction that I always cherished. We will all miss him but delight in having had him in our lives. Eunie, now you've got him back!

To the Family of Dr. Abe Sherer:
God has summoned one of his angels home today. Free from pain and trials of life, He sent him on his way.
As a beautiful butterfly winging to a Heavenly place, He joins his loved ones gone before, Who rejoice to see his face. Now, we who are left behind, will shed great tears of sorrow, And go on living day-to-day and all the coming morrows.
But tho' you'll miss his radiant smile, try hard not to grieve, For
he looks down with love...

When I was called about Uncle Abe’s passing, (yes I was a cousin, but when you were with Abe it was always “Uncle Abe”), it made me realize just how lucky I was to have had him in my life and how lucky we all were to share his gifts of love, family community and laughter. For those of you who remembered the joke, he introduced me to the term “A Safer Torah”J I did not make it to this years Seder but did make it for last years, and it was incredible. Families like ours do not get a chance to...

Sherer family, please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of Dr. Sherer. I have nothing but the fondest memories of him. May God comfort you among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
