Gloria J. and Albert “Al” Hynek, Kimberling City, MO devoted in life and now united forever with their Lord. Gloria departed on April 8, 2017 and Al followed at midnight eleven hours later.
Gloria, 84, was born in Omaha, NE on June 26, 1932 to Stanley and Mildred (Gray) Mixan. Albert, 89, was born in Cold Springs, OK on November 7, 1927 to Albert and Rose (Skorpik) Hynek. Following Al’s service in the Merchant Marines and Army, the two were married on September 22, 1956 in Omaha, NE. from this union three children were born. Their son Mark Hynek preceded them in death.
Gloria was preceded in death by her son, Mark; her parents and one brother, Bob Mixan.
Al was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; son, Mark; his parents; and brother, George Hynek.
Survivors include: son, Scott Hynek and wife, Patti (Callahan) of Bellevue, NE; daughter, Janet Nienaber and husband, Mark of Mountain Home, AR; daughter-in-law, Kelli (DeBuhr) Hynek of Billings, MO; eight grandchildren, Scott, Nathan, Ashley, Amanda (Hynek) Hartman and husband, Lucus, Madison, Garrett, Andrea (Nienaber) Keesling and husband, Ross and Matthew Nienaber; two great granddaughters Lacie and Zoey. Gloria is survived by brother, David Mixan and sister Alyce Jean Svajgl. Al is survived by a sister-in-law, Lee Hynek. Both are survived by a host of other family and friends.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church Kimberling City, MO with Rev. Richard Futrell officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shepherds Men’s Group of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church Kimberling City, MO.
A special thanks of gratitude to the staff of Table Rock Health Care, Preferred Hospice, and dozens of friends for their care and compassion.
Interment will be at a later date in Omaha, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO.
