Not sure what to say?

I went to school with Albert at Bethany College and he did this painting for my mother. If the family would like to have it I am willing to gift it back to them. Rozanne ReBell 530-386-6467 or 530-283-0342

Thank you Al for being in my life for 10years. Such a joy and I will greatly miss you. Love and light always.

I was saddened to read of the loss of this luminary in Pittsburgh's development. I first met Al when he was designing the new upper school for Winchester Thurston. He conceived so many classical buildings that are admired today. It was not unusual for me to run into him at operas or concerts.
My sincere condolences to his family on this loss to the city.

Mike and Dave,

I am saddened today to learn of your father's passing after stumbling upon an obituary in the Post-Gazette.

Though I probably had no more than a handful of conversations with him during those years we were in the band and scouts together, he left a lasting impression as a man of kindness, intelligence and grace.

Please accept my family's condolences in your time of grief. Al's life is one to be celebrated in song, music, thought and deed. Every time I visit...

To Michael and David; our condolences to you for your loss. Al was a great mentor to me over the almost 40 years I knew him. We first met when I worked with him a couple of summers and Christmases in 1978-81 when I was in Architecture School and he had the office in Mt. Lebanon, and I worked with him again at MCF in the 90's when I lived in Pittsburgh. My wife Sherry McKibben worked for him as well. Life took us here to Idaho where we have been practicing ever since, but I dropped by his...

Al was a talented architect and friend. His excellent work in the city will always remind us and future generations of his love of theater and opera. His smile will be missed but his spirit will continue to light the stages of our city.

I fondly remember Mr. Filoni walking his beagle up and down Rockwood Avenue every day after he came home from work, usually while my brother and I played outside our grandmother's house. He always stopped to say hello on his journey back down the street and was always a familiar face. I once remember catching part of a PBS documentary about Pittsburgh and recognizing him as he talked about the architecture of Downtown Pittsburgh's many famous buildings. I am in awe after reading about his...

Our family had the privilege of living next door to your father. He was always a nice neighbor ready for a friendly chat. I remember him walking Belle and talking to the neighbors as he went. When our daughter graduated from college, he was kind enough to introduce her to some colleagues for job contacts. My son shoveled his walks for a few years and he was always generous with his thanks. Your dad always talked about his sons with great pride. Al lived an interesting and full life. Our...

To Albert's Family and Friends:

Albert was a gem. He inspired and had a great heart. I am privileged to have known and worked very closely with him for almost 20 years as the Facility Director at California University.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences. My wife and I are out of town, otherwise we would have been there.

Respectfully - Al till we meet again.
