I remember Mr. Hawkes as the best science teacher I ever had. He was inspirational to me as a student at Henry Barnard school. I was a child who loved to be in nature, so the fact that he took the classroom outside, to Bristol, was a highlight of my elementary years. His calm respect for every living thing came across loud and clear. Thank you, Mr. Hawkes.
