When I showed up at SIU fresh off the farm and reasonably clueless, I had the privilege of meeting many people who changed my like. Dr. Pulsipher was one of those people. GREAT lecturer in my intro to microeconomics course and a person who made the course come alive. I have a list of people who influenced me to follow them in higher education and hopefully make the impact on young people as Dr. Pulsipher did on me. Clearly he went on to do that many times over. My sadness is that I didn't get to thank him in person. I never forgot him from that class in 1968. My condolences to his family and others who share in losing him.

I'm glad you had many years together. I'll always remember his wide-ranging mind and how the walls of your house were made of so many bookshelves. My condolences.

We saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Pulsipher. While reading over his obituary, I am reminded of the words of Solomon in Proverbs that says, "Have you seen a man skillful at his work? Before kings he will stand." As you mourn, remember that God "is close to those broken at heart." And please accept our deepest sympathies in your time of grief. - The Brennans (JW .org)
