Allen Lewis Obituary

Allen Eugene Lewis, born in Denver, CO on December 3, 1935, spent most of his young life in Golden, CO with the last 51 years in Mobile, AL, passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday, March 6, 2022, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was a 1953 graduate of Golden High School, where he excelled in academics and sports.
He served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1961. He met his wife Patricia soon after returning home and they remained married for nearly 50 years prior to her passing in March of 2010. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1964 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Out of college he was employed with Shell Chemical Company where he worked in the Ojai, CA, St. Helens, OR and Mobile, AL plants. The Mobile plant was purchased by DuPont, and he continued to work there until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by the only love of his life, Patricia Lewis; parents, Ralph and Kathryne Lewis. He is survived by his three children: Tony Lewis, Terry Lewis (Teresa) and Valerie Draper (Rich); 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister Lois Nankervis; brother Bill Lewis (Linda) and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be at 8:30am on Friday, April 8 followed by a Celebration of Life service at 9:30am both held at Olinger Crown Hill in Wheat Ridge. His final resting place will be with his wife at Golden Cemetery.
