Ann Hayes Obituary

HAYES, Ann Christy, passed away on March 7, 2014. She was born June 20, 1923, in Fremont, Ohio. The family moved to Tampa in 1934. Ann attended Gorrie Elementary, Wilson Jr. High and Plant High. She was a member of the Tampa Junior Women's Club, the La Sertoma Club of Tampa, the Palma Ceia Women's Golf Association, and was an American Red Cross volunteer at Memorial Hospital. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William N. Hayes, sister, Jane C. Watts (John), and brothers, Russ J. Christy (Helen) and Arthur R. Christy (Margaret Ann). She is survived by daughters Cynthia H. Meyers (Jim), Deborah J. Hayes (George Urbana), Elaine C. Hayes (Gary Doyle), two loving grandchildren Myky Meyers Mahaney (Cory) and Jamie Neil Meyers, great granddaughter Marlee Ann Mahaney, brother Edward H. Christy (Naomi) and sister Myky C. Barnard (Robert), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Tampa Bay Chapter, or LifePath Hospice. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.
