I first met my Auntie Annie when I was 5 on my first trip to Scotland. That was in 1953 when my mom, Peggy and my Auntie Teda traveled by train to New York and sailed the Queen Elizabeth home with me, Maryann and my brother Lourie and cousin Tom. We arrived in Glasgow when Penilee was still on rations from WWII. Auntie Annie was a force to be addressed in that household of 8 adults and 3 weans. Though we never met Annie in person, we are very fortunate that you have shared such incredible and heartfelt stories of the wonderful woman she was and will be remembered as such. Annie was a best friend to Ellen Brady who lived in Glasgow. They met at secondary school- Our Lady and Saint Francis High School in Glasgow. Both then went on to Notre Dame College and both became teachers of the highest calibre. Both ladies enjoyed an incredible career and enjoyed an outstanding reputation throughout the teaching fraternity. Both Annie and Ellen had a unique bond that lasted a lifetime.
