Anthony Jannuzzi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 20, 2020.
Anthony P. Jannuzzi 1934-2020

Anthony (Tony) Jannuzzi, 85, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on May 19, 2020 at the Tidewell Hospice House. Mr. Jannuzzi was born in Jersey City, NJ to Mary and Angelo Jannuzzi. Tony was originally from Rivervale, NJ. Tony and Alice owned the "Elm Luncheonette" where customers were family. They moved to Punta Gorda, FL in 1977 and made it their permanent residence. Tony was a great father and beloved husband. He was best known to make people laugh. There was always a joke or two up his sleeve.

Tony loved to go fishing with his two sons. He had a passion for billiards and taught all his children how to play. Other interests were golfing, drawing, playing the saxophone and listening to jazz music.

Most of all Tony loved his wife Alice. They were devoted to each other for 58 years. He never bought her cards for any celebrations; instead he wrote love letters to her with pictures to show his adoration.

He is survived by his loving wife Alice (Debbie) nee Barber, Jannuzzi. He was devoted to his daughter Darlene and her husband, Mark Simon, two sons, Thomas and his wife Dawn Jannuzzi, and Paul Jannuzzi and his girlfriend Polly Johnson. He was a very proud grandfather to Tara Blackson, Dominic Jannuzzi, and Shaina Jannuzzi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Roslayn, and twin sister Paula.

Tony was a good friend and a good neighbor. Sure he is in Heaven now telling all the angels one of his famous jokes. He was one in a million and will be greatly missed. Our condolences to Alice and the family.
