Not sure what to say?

Mr. Harmon was my gym teacher in the 1970s. I also had the pleasure of taking his life guard certification course. I was working with my daughter on an essay about my high school years...which were memorable in very few ways. Even though I was never a star athlete, Mr. Harmon always treated me with respect and dignity. In fact, I was trying to find his address to thank him when I came across this obituary. I hope it is still o.k. to say, "Thank you Mr. Harmon."

I was thinking about summer on this cold winter day and I thought of Art. Wow, it will be really different this summer. I miss him already, but smiling remembering.

We were so sad to hear about Art. He was just here a month ago, after taking our older son to get his license. He was talking about Bromley, the beach, and his grandchildren. He did such a good job teaching our older 2 how to drive. He really took the time to get to know the kids.

What a great loss. Our thoughts are with your family.

Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome...

Driving lessons with Art Harmon were a rite of passage for our children as they reached their 16th birthday. We always felt. as parents, that our kids were in the best hands as they got behind the wheel for the first time in our driveway and drove off with Art, one of the calmest most patient men one could ever meet. It is with great sadness that we realize that our youngest will not have the same driving teacher that the older three enjoyed. Art you will be greatly missed.
