Not sure what to say?

Austin was a friend and colleague of many years and I was shocked and saddened to hear these news. My condolences to his children and family.

Dear Andrea and Family,

May Our Dear Lord console you in the Loss of Austin! Hew ill always be near you to watch over you and pray for you. I am sorry I could not go to the Funeral Home and Mass, I have a bum knee! I saw my doctor today. Mean old OsteoArthritis! I will always remember Austin "feeding" me the Chalice of the Precious Blood, he never let anyone touch the Chalice. That was really reverent and sweet. Love and Prayers, Donna

So sorry to hear of the loss of this great USC professor. He really sparked my interest in all things birds. Rest in peace Dr. Hughes. "Forever to thee"

We'll miss you Austin. You taught us all about selection at the nucleotide level.

Helen, I am so glad he got to spend his final day with Elliott and Claire. That will be an important memory later on. I'm so very sorry.

Words are often trite and inadequate at times like these. . . . I am so sorry for your loss. And am sure Austin's memory will always be a blessing to those who knew and loved him. Please know that you and yours are ever in my heart, thoughts, and prayers at this sad time.
