Not sure what to say?

I was so saddened to hear of Mrs. Allen passing. I worked on the Class of 1970 graduation decorations with Mrs. Allen. She was so KIND / CREATIVE / and a JOY to work with and be around. Prayers of comfort for her family......sorry for the delay (I was in hospital Apr 7 - Jul 3, 2014

Barbara was one of my Mother's favorite students. She talked of her often. Prayers are with all of you during this time.

I am so saddened to hear of Mrs. Allen's passing. She was such a remarkable woman and exceptional teacher! I am still amazed at her ability to hold her students to such high standards and make us feel confident that we could achieve them. She made you feel like you could do anything. I learned so much from her as an art student and a yearbook staff member (class of '89). But once I became an art teacher and would think back on how she handled the class, explained techniques, and inspired us-...

I'm so sorry to hear about Mrs. Allen's passing. Mrs. Allen was the first art teacher to make me think about my art seriously as a potential career and not just a fun hobby. She helped me decide on a college, helped me with my portfolio, and was so supportive. I owe her a lot. Your family is in my thoughts. Class of '89

Barbara was one of the sweetest, most vibrant people I've ever known. I had the pleasure of serving on her yearbook staff (CHS '91), traveling with her to Europe, and later working for her and her husband, Bob. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

What a wonderful person Mrs Allen was. I was not a student of hers but remember how friendly she was and she would stop me in the halls and talk - she always spoke to you, no matter where she saw you. I am a better person for knowing her.

Mrs.Allen was the epitome of patience and realism when dealing with the CHS yearbook staff. She was trusting, yet a wonderful, knowledgeable guide as we attempted to craft the memories of our school year in one culminating book. Even though she was toward the end of her career during my time there, she worked as hard as any new teacher would. Thanks Mrs. Allen for all you did for us crazy teenagers and for believing in what we could produce! As a teacher myself, her energy has been an...

Mrs. Allen was an outstanding teacher who truly knew her students. She won our utmost respect.
I remember it being very important to me that she was proud of me as a person and as a student.
Mrs. Allen changed the course of my life because she believed in me and my talent. She encouraged me to reach for goals that I never thought were possible. She spent so much time with me as I prepared to apply to design school as a senior in high school (1994-95) and I vividly remember her...

My Favorite class and teacher all my years at Cary High. I took all art courses 1 thru 4 class of '85, and you were always so wonderful with my guidance and encouragement in the art world. You were always in my thoughts and memories as I continued to pursue my art education through College at East Carolina University, earning my Bachelor of Fine Art Degree in printmaking...and I wish you could have attended my Senior Exhibition in 1990. Thank you Mrs. Allen for always believing in me and...
