Barbara J. Northerner

Brick - Barbara J. Northerner, age 72 of Brick, NJ passed away on November 18, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. She was born in Point Pleasant and raised in Brick. Barbara graduated from Brick Township High School in 1966 and attended Ocean County College. She worked for Two Guys Department Store in the Pharmacy department for 14 years. She also worked as the Nurse's Secretary and a classroom aide for Lacey Township Board of Education, where she was awarded the Golden Apple Award. She is a past president of the Brick Township Jaycettes, past state chairman for camp Jaycee; special needs summer camp for NJ Jaycettes.

Barbara loved her family, reading and working with special needs children and adults.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Richard B. Brown, Sr., and Jane Brown. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, William J. Northerner, children, Melanie Dringus, and Lori Solan and her husband Mike, grandchildren, Keryn Bozeman, Alena Dringus, and William Dringus. Also surviving are her brother, Richard B. Brown, Jr., sister, Shirley Boudreau, nieces; Tracy Boudreau and Dawn Boudreau, and nephew; Joseph Boudreau; grandnieces, Kaili Martire, Karissa May and Danielle Bacon and grandnephews, Aidan Murphy, and Ryan Bacon.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Rd., Brick, NJ 08723. A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday evening, 8pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
