Belclaire Price Slutsky, of Metuchen, NJ and Stamford, CT, passed away from natural causes on January 23, 2016. Mrs. Slutsky was born to Mae and Robert Price in Passaic, NJ. She was raised in Perth Amboy, NJ and attended Beaver College. She moved to Metuchen, NJ to raise her family with her husband, the late Robert Slutsky. On his passing in 1976, she took over the family trucking business and successfully managed and operated the enterprise. Upon retirement, she moved to Stamford, CT to be closer to her family.
Mrs. Slutsky was known as an exceptional cook and enjoyed fashion, music, the arts, politics, all-things French, and the presence of her friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, Alan Slutsky and Richard Slutsky, M.D.; daughter, Laura Slutsky-Birkenstock; as well as her grandchildren, Alison, Audrey, Rachel, and Joshua Slutsky and Michael Slutsky-Birkenstock. Mrs. Slutsky was predeceased by her sister, Justine Price Lafer, and stepbrother, Michael Price.
There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home located at 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT. A private burial service will be held thereafter for immediate family at Beth Israel Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge, NJ. Condolences can be conveyed at the residence of Dr. Slutsky on Wednesday, January 27 and Thursday January 28, 2016 from 5 PM to 8 PM and Friday January 29, 2016 from 12 PM to 3 PM; the address is available through his office.
