Bennie Tarnow

Bennie Marie Riley Tarnow was a dear and cherished friend who I knew in Germany. I have many wonderful memories of her and, therefore, was saddened when we lost touch with one another. While I am heartbroken to learn of her passing, I am overjoyed to know that she lived a happy and fulfilling life. May she rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear this. I was one of her students at Dawes in 1999 and was just thinking about her when I Googled her and found her obituary.

Growing up in Oneida, New York I knew Bennie Marie by her nickname, Rita. She was kind, funny and an awesome competitor in all sports. She bested me on more than one occasion! I'm not surprised to read about her many life accomplishments. I'm sorry she was taken so soon. My heart goes out to her brother Ben and all of her family.

I shared many, many hours on the athletic fields and courts of OHS with Rita. She was always there for our teams, smiling and playing her heart out! Rest in peace and love, Rita.
