Not sure what to say?

As a friend of Beth's since 1974, we
have been through good and bad times as we and a wonderful group of colleagues have aged together.

Beth meant so much to a lot of us. As has been mentioned, she was always ready to join in a
party, a celebration, and help with
any gathering.

As others do,I have many of her
pieces of pottery displayed in our
home. And I have given so many of
her lovely pieces to family and friends over the years. I watched
as she...

Although I cannot be in Birmingham today to pay my respects to Beth in person, I am happy to know she is surrounded by friends and family who love her. JoDel and Dexter, Beth appreciated all you did for her. And to Eleanor, Beth's friend since high school, thank you. You

This is truly sad news but thoughts of Beth bring back so many sweet memories of innocent, joyful days of a long ago childhood. My mother was in Beth's parents' wedding and they were both in my parents' wedding so our connection - almost like what southerners used to call "shirt tail kinfolk" - goes back to when we were babies.

My paternal grandparents had a 3 acre farm on Pumphouse Road (nowadays it would be called an "estate" but my grand-daddy grew lots of corn and lima beans in his...

I will always remember Aunt Beth teaching me how to make pottery in her basement. I still use the dish I made with her to hold my rings when I wash my hands. Sarah Rutherford Smiley (niece)
