I couldn't believe it when I saw Beverly's picture and read her obituary. It seems like only yesterday we worked together in Support Services at Bowman Gray School of Medicine. Beverly was a very special person...smart as a whip, and a really good friend. I never heard Beverly say an unkind word about anyone, and that's rare these days. My heartfelt love and sympathy to Larry and Karen and Corky.

Please accept Patti and My condolences for Bev's passing. We were in Las Vegas at a trade show from Jan 12-20 and just learned of her passing. She was a wonderful person who worked for me the last decade of her employment at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She leaves a very vacant space in my tenure as Chair of the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology. Patti and my thoughts go out to her loved ones. James E. Smith, Ph.D. Professor and Chair emeritus.

My heart is quite heavy with the loss of Beverly or "Mom" as I so often called her. I had the priviledge of becoming an "honorary" member of her family over 30 years ago. In truth,The McClellan family surely has quite a few "unofficial" children such as myself. They always had an open door policy for all of us "Kids" and we always felt loved and welcome in their home. Beverly and Larry both were consistantly such great role models for us to learn from. Their love for others has always had a way of extending far beyond the limitations of a normal friendship and you just couldnt help but feel like a part of their family. A trait that is reflected so well in their own children to this day. Each member of this family are mighty fine examples of what we should all hope to become as human beings. To the family, I share in your grief and I hope you all know just how special that Beverly is to so many of us. She touced more lives than you could possibly imagine by simply being....."Beverly." I love you all very much and I'm only a call away if you should need anything at anytime....Sincerely, Donald Jordan.
