A military graveside service for Bobby Wayne Long, 63, of Town Creek will be Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 3 p.m. at East Lawrence Memorial Garden with Parkway Funeral Home directing.

Bobby, who passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014, at his residence was born September 24, 1950, in Moulton to Dewey Travis Long and Helen Louise Nix Long. He was awarded military service honors in the United States Marine Corp. including the Purple Heart Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, National Inventory Medal, Navy Cross and many other decorations. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, John and Addie Nix, Marshall and Gertrude Long; brother, James Willard Long.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Chmielarski Long; sons, Bobby W. Long "Lil Bob", Jonathan (Ashley) Long; daughter, Stephanie Helen (Cory) Roden; grandchildren, Keilan Long, Jaelyn Long, Ivey Kate Roden and Peyton Long; brother, Billy (Tammy) Long, Tuscaloosa; sister-in-law, Evalena Long, Aurora, Oh; sisters, Betty Ergle, Phil Campbell, Charlotte May, Pontiac, MI, Joyce Castro, Chicago, IL, Kathy (Danny Ray) Morgan, Debbie Long, both of Phil Campbell, Tammy Bryson, Zion, IL and a multitude of nieces, nephews and great-nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Almost a decade without you and my broken heart still feels the same as it did when you first left us Uncle Bob. So many things have happened that I wish you were here to be apart of. I miss you something fierce and hang on to your memories to get me through. I Love You Uncle Bob!

The years have passed and there is not a time that goes by that you are not thought of, my dear sweet Uncle you are missed immensely. I sure do wish you could see this sweet sweet grandson of mine, you would get such a kick out of him. Continue to rest in paradise, I Love You Uncle Bob!

It has been 4 years but I know your family, especially Stephanie has not stopped missing you. You were loved and have been missed very much. Until we meet again.

It sure doesn't get any easier as the months pass. Missing you today, tomorrow, and always... I know the angels are enjoying the sweet sounds of your guitar. Rest In Paradise. Love you Uncle Bob!!
