Mr. Akers was a kind, diligent friend, for which no words can portray the magnitude of his presence as a teacher and his immense support for all of his students, friends, and family. Mr. Akers expressed in each day of school, as I, one of his students, recall, the smiling faculties of friendship and joy for his mission to bring his immense knowledge to others through his kinds words as an instructor.
Mr. Akers will be remembered for his caring nature and his dedication to many individuals throughout his career as a teacher, as not only the compassionate and loving instructor, who came smiling each day to the classroom, but as a friend that will be specially held in our hearts.
Mr. Akers, I wish you every blessing from my heart for your bright future, even if this future is in the safe and loving light of Heaven.

I never had you as a teacher but I was so looking forward to being in your class next year. My brother had you for two years in high school and he's told me great things. I regret not having the privilege of knowing you. You will definitely be missed.

Brian was one of my best friends. He was the hardest working, most generous person I knew. A friend like Brian only comes around once in a lifetime. I will remember him for his wicked sense of humor and raw athletic talent. We were on the same cycling team together and with little training, Brian could do amazing things on two wheels. I hope to see my friend again on the other side someday. Rest in Peace, Brian. You were a phenomenal human being, loved by many, who positively impacted countless individual lives.

Mr. Akers impacted so many lives. Many future doctors, nurses, scientists, pharmacists and much more went through his class. He not only instilled a passion for science and learning, but literally a passion for life through biology. Mr. Akers not only gave us students the tools to achieve high scores on the AP test, but also the knowledge and understanding of biology. I wish I could have thanked you for where I am today academically and personally. Rest in peace sir. You will never be forgotten, and you will live on through the countless students that you impacted..
