LORAIN - Carmen "Chory" Marcial (née Cortez) 68, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.
Chory was born January 22, 1945 in Utuado, Puerto Rico. She moved here in 1971. She was a member of Templo Emmanuel Assembly of God, Lorain, where she was a member of the churches' Sociedad de Damas. She was a homemaker and loving mother. She collected pictures and figurines and butterfly decorations.
She will be deeply missed by her sons Ismael (Marlyne) Marcial Jr. and Abraham Marcial both of Lorain; sisters Esther Perez, Inez Rodriguez and Alice Rivera all of Lorain and Matilde Cortez of Florida; brother Ismael Cortez of Florida; grandchildren Adrian, Alex, and Xavier Marcial.
She was preceded in death by her parents Juan R. and Virginia (née Montero) Cortez; sister Juanita Perez; and brothers Diego and Luis Cortez.
Her family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 until time of service at 7 PM in Templo Emmanuel, 4230 Clinton Avenue, Lorain, where her funeral service will be Friday at 10 AM in the church. The Reverend Pedro Negron, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
