Carolyn Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 78. She was born in Clovis, New Mexico, and raised in Roswell. After graduating from Roswell High School, she moved to California to begin a new chapter in her life.

Carolyn completed nursing school and later earned her Bachelor’s Degree, becoming a dedicated and compassionate Physician’s Assistant. Her calling to care for others was a lifelong mission, and she touched countless lives through her work and her unwavering kindness. Carolyn’s greatest joys in life were her faith, her family, and her community. She loved God deeply and served faithfully through her church, where she also shared her beautiful voice to all. Carolyn gave freely of her time and her heart to those in need.

She was preceded in death by her father, Major Johnson; her mother, Ella Kate Johnson; her brother, Earl D. Johnson, Sr.; and her sister, Renee Johnson. Cherishing her memory are her devoted children: Janet Womack (Scheddrick), Jacqueline Woodard, and John C. Griggs, Jr. (fiancée, Rita); her beloved grandchildren: Diamond Bostick, Jasmyne Womack, Taylor Griggs, Sydney Griggs, Shaunna Walker, and John C. Griggs III; and her precious great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Griggs. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Ella Louise Turner, Major Johnson (Sylvia), Margaret Blincoe (Thomas), Nathaniel Johnson (Bernettie), John Johnson (Martha), LaFonda Federico, and Laquita Ruth Johnson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved her deeply.
