Bob Neal & Sons - Brinkley Funeral Home - Brinkley Obituary

Carrie Nipps Davison, aged 100, passed away on October 20, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and accomplished educator. Born on August 10, 1925, in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma to William and Minnie Nipps, Carrie's life was a long, fulfilling journey of love, wisdom, and service to others.

Carrie's journey into education began at Byng, OK., public schools where she graduated in 1943. With a passion for learning and a desire to share knowledge, she earned her Bachelor's in Business Education from William and Mary University in Virginia, later obtaining a Master’s degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Her dedication to education was evident in her service as both a teacher and Principal from 1964-1966. Carrie continued her career as a business teacher at Marvell Public Schools from 1966 until her retirement in 1985, during which she touched and shaped the lives of countless students.

Beyond her career, Carrie was a pillar of her community. She was an active member of the Marvell Garden Club and the Tri County Genealogy Society. As a devout member of the Marvell United Methodist Church since 1948, Carrie served in various positions, reflecting her faith and commitment to service.

In 1946, Carrie married Lucian Davison. They made homes in various places before settling in the Marvell area. Their union was blessed with their daughter Beverly, and through the years, they were delighted to see their family grow with the addition of grandchildren.

Carrie's hobbies were as diverse as her interests. She found joy in knitting, sewing, and gardening. She was also fond of crosswords and jigsaw puzzles, activities that kept her mind sharp and her spirit lively.

Her life was a testament to her love for education, her dedication to her community, and her passion for nurturing young minds. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those she touched with her wisdom, love, and unwavering commitment to education.

As we bid her farewell, we find comfort in the words of Henry Adams, "A teacher affects eternity; she can never tell where her influence stops." Carrie's influence will undoubtedly continue in the countless lives she touched and the legacy she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Benjamin and Minnie Maudie (Hart) Nipps, her husband Lucian Allie Davison, brothers William Hulbert Nipps, Winfred Lowell Nipps, and sisters, Alma Ruth Sjurset, and Wanda Lee Brewer, Carrie leaves behind a loving family and community who will forever cherish her memories.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Beverly Helmke and husband Larry of Hot Springs Village, AR, and three cherished grandchildren, Benjamin Davison King, Scott Allen Helmke (Amy) and Kyle Michael King (Greg Chappell) along with five great grands and one great-great grand.

Not sure what to say?

So sorry, Mrs Beverly and Mr Larry. She was a sweet person. Mrs Carrie will be greatly missed.

The influence of Aunt Carrie was always a positive one. The last time I saw her she was kind and sweet. Rest in Peace. Love to all.

Mrs Davison was my math teacher in Jr Hi school. She was a very nice and caring person. Your loss is heaven's gain
