Christina M. Transue, 85, died January 27, 2018, with her family by her side in Cumming, GA.

She was born September 15, 1932, in Scotland and gained her Teacher's Education Degree in Edinburgh. After teaching for 6 years in Edinburgh she moved to Charlotte, NC. In 1961 she moved to the Atlanta area where she lived ever since. She earned her Master's in Education from Georgia State University, taught school in Georgia for 28 years, acted as Director of Christian Education in the Presbyterian Church for three years. She retired from teaching in the early 1990's. Since her retirement she served on several committees in various societies in and around Atlanta. Her Scottish (Clan McCallum) and Presbyterian roots kept her active in the St. Andrews Society of Atlanta, the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Atlanta and First Presbyterian Church, Marietta. Her hobbies included reading, travel, playing bridge and enjoying the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren where it was her aim and success to make many good memories together.




Mrs. Transue is survived by her sons, Patrick Transue, Harry (& Sandi) Transue and daughter-in-law Mary Transue; grandchildren, Ian Transue, Erin (Transue) Brown and Spencer Transue; great-grandchildren, Rowan & Lily Brown and Rebeka Transue; and extended family in Scotland, England and Canada.


She was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Smith; father, James Wilkie; first husband, Dale Benoy (1963); second husband, James E Transue (1987); son, James M Transue (2000).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Andrews Society of Atlanta or First Presbyterian Church, Marietta, GA.

I met your precious mother/ grandmother through the St Andrews Society. She was such an interesting, "up" lady. I really enjoyed spending a bit of time with her at each meeting. I'm v. sorry for your loss. I know you must miss her terribly. Love, Elizabeth Orr Ard
