Clara Wimmer Thorne

CLARA WIMMER THORNE Age 97, resident of Riverside, CA for 80 years, passed away August 24, 2009 at Villa DeAnza, Riverside, CA. Clara was born March 11, 1912 in Riverside, to her parents, Arch and Mary Parks, who were orange growers in West Riverside, now Rudiboux. She was the granddaughter of Heber and Ida Parks, early settlers of Riverside, CA. She was a graduate of Riverside Poly High and employed by Harris Department Store and Gossett Music Company, both in Riverside. Clara was a member of Riverside First Baptist Church, 4H Leader in West Riverside, and Volunteer at Mount Rubidoux Manor in Riverside where she resided for 13 years. Clara is survived by her daughters, Helen Lair (Ralph) of Riverside and Judy Bowlin of Bakersfield, CA; sons, Donald Wimmer (Lee) of Riverside and James Wimmer (Peggy) of Santa Barbara; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, John Wimmer of Riverside. Funeral 09/01/09, 10am at First Baptist Church in Riverside, with burial to follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 12 noon.
